CHF #7
Iron

Hemoglobin is the chemical substance in red blood cells that capture and hold oxygen by circulating throughout the lining of our lungs and then carries this oxygen throughout our entire body to every tissue. This fresh oxygen is then used to burn our internal fuel for energy, which is needed for proper cell growth and development and to provide fuel for other important metabolic processes. Iron is also needed to produce myoglobin, the oxygen reservoir in the muscle cells and cyto-chromes, a class of iron containing proteins important in cell respiration as catalysts of oxidation reduction reactions.
A deficiency of Iron could make us tired and apathetic, a condition known as anemia. Anemia is characterized by low levels of hemoglobin causing oxygen starvation in your tissues. Anemia can go undetected in many people. The symptoms can be very vague so detection can be difficult. In most cases, people report a feeling of fatigue after light exertion and sometimes poor concentration can be a mild symptom as well. People with more severe symptoms of anemia often report shortness of breath upon exertion. Taking CHF #7 Iron may help the body with anemia symptoms. Also, taking Vitamin C may help with the absorption of iron in the body. This is included in our CHF #7 Iron formula along with B6, B12, Copper amino acid, folic acid and Vitamin E which may help the body utilize iron.

Foods naturally containing Iron are cooked clams, raisin bran, cooked sirloin steak, shrimp, black beans, chickpeas (garbanzo beans), cooked turkey breast, bread (whole wheat), chicken breasts (skinless), tomatoes, raspberries, pears, collard greens and spinach.
The University of Maryland Medical Center states that an iron-poor diet is a common cause of iron deficiency. Drinking too much cow's milk is a common cause of iron deficiency in young children because cows milk contains little iron and can get in the way of iron absorption.
